I can’t believe it, but we’ve officially made it to 2025!

To kick off the new year, I wanted to share 10 things I want you to stop worrying about on Instagram.

I get sooo many questions about these topics, and frankly, they are NOT important.

They’re not things that are going to ‘move the needle’, and really grow your Instagram page like I know you want to.

It’s time to leave this stuff behind in 2024. Instead, let’s focus on what IS going to bring you bigger and better results!

In today’s episode, I’m talking about 10 things you need to stop worrying about on Instagram (and what to focus on instead).

Something I’m often asked about is WHEN to post on Instagram. Everyone seems to think there must be a *magical* time to post each day...but there really isn’t.

Instead of trying to post at the same time every.single.day, focus on a time that fits well in YOUR schedule + is sustainable, too! It really doesn’t need to be that complicated. You don’t need to carve out a ton of time to do this, either!

Perfectionism tends to plague so many therapists on Instagram. Creating the ‘perfect’ piece of content can lead to overthinking that content, which leads to you barely posting anything!

Of course, quality content matters. But...what really matters (especially in the beginning) is how frequently you’re posting. The more you post, the more you’ll get comfortable with doing it. As a result, your content will get better and better!

Hashtags are another factor that people get waaay too wrapped up in.

I don’t have anything against hashtags. I still use them in my posts, and I do think they can be helpful!

But..they’re not going to ‘make’ or ‘break’ your posts, or your account in general. Instead of focusing on the most amazing hashtags, focus on your messaging! When you’re niched down and super clear on who you’re speaking to, that ALONE is going to do 10 times the work of a great hashtag!

Your cover photos for your reels should NOT be high on your priority list, nor should ‘meaningless’ engagement. You can make a quality reel cover photo in less than 60 seconds - don’t overthink it!

When you’re engaging on Instagram, it’s quality over quantity here.

Instead of leaving the same, boring comment on 30 different accounts, take some time to get to know people. Start sharing and engaging in ways that others resonate with, and want to respond to!

Instagram is an incredible place to create genuine connections + build authentic, lasting relationships. This is one of my FAVORITE things about this platform!

I’ve got 5 more things you need to stop worrying about when it comes to Instagram…but you’ll have to tune into the episode to get allll the details on those!

I hope this episode is a valuable roadmap that shows what you *actually* need to focus on with Instagram, and what you can let go of.  There is sooo much there that you don’t need to worry about. It’s time to make things easier where you can!

Of course, there are some pieces that do require more strategy, consistency, and effort. Reels Membership is one option that can help you put out quality reels + convert more of your followers into actual clients. Yep, it’s something that will make your content creation MUCH easier!

The more that you choose to embrace authenticity and show up like you would in your sessions, the more success you WILL have with Instagram. I am wishing you ALL of the success, ease, and abundance in the new year - you’ve got this!!

In this episode, Stop Worrying About These 10 Things on Instagram (and What to Focus on Instead), I cover:

  • The timing of your Instagram posts

  • Getting stuck on creating the ‘perfect’ pieces of content

  • Using hashtags in your posts

  • Creating reel cover photos

  • Meaningless engagement on Instagram vs. building an actual community there

  • What really matters when it comes to your background for photos & videos

  • Showing MORE of you & your face on Instagram

  • Talking more in your reels so people get to hear your voice

  • Letting go of your fear of saying the ‘wrong’ thing
