Networking can be an INCREDIBLE way to bring private-pay clients into your practice.

But if you’re relying on referrals as your entire marketing strategy? It’s time to change that!

Referrals often convert really well because they come from someone your potential client already trusts.

The downside? You have very little control over when those referrals actually come in.

That’s why I recommend networking as one piece of a larger marketing strategy (NOT the whole thing).

In today’s episode, I’m talking about how to network for private pay clients + the pros and cons of doing so.

So how DO you network effectively?

It starts with having a clear niche + identifying other professionals who are already working with your ideal clients. Think therapists with complementary specialties, dietitians, OBs, and other providers in your community.

You absolutely CAN find these people and start building genuine relationships when you’re ready to connect. And no – you don’t need to send awkward, spammy DMs (nobody wants that)!

This is one of the strategies I teach inside PPA. I love helping therapists build the marketing skills and systems they need to consistently attract private-pay clients!

Yes, you can turn those initial conversations into long-term referral relationships. The goal isn’t to collect as many coffee dates as possible.

It’s to build 5-10 strong professional relationships that can support your practice for YEARS.

And yes – that takes time, consistency + intentional effort!

Of course, both networking AND Instagram have their pros and cons. Both can be incredibly valuable!

But Instagram gives you more control over your visibility and how actively you’re bringing in new clients.

The sweet spot? Using both strategies TOGETHER.

My challenge for you this week? Pick ONE person you’re already following/connected with and work towards building a relationship with.

Happy networking – I can’t wait to hear how it goes for you!!
